Africa Days

During this years Africa Days, the whole school learned about different aspects of African culture. The Primary 1s created African animal bar charts, P6/7 learned about the rights of a child, P5 have been making a book about Scotland to send to Malawi and P7 learned how to speak Swahili.

The whole school got to hear African stories from Kenya and P5 to P7 experienced gumboot dancing from South Africa. Click here to see the photos.

Gaelic Mod Success

Our Gaelic speakers recently enjoyed a successful visit to the Mod where they won several prizes for the Gaelic singing and poetry they have been learning with Mrs Forrest and Miss Lynn. Click here to see the pictures.

Fiona Hyslop Visits Stenhouse

Scottish External Affairs Minister Fiona Hyslop visited Stenhouse recently to speak to children and find out more about our school link with Embangweni. The children made her feel very welcome and gave her an excellent insight in what the school link means to them.

Stenhouse Primary School Wins Fairtrade Award!

Well done to our Fairtrade Group after being made joint winners at an Edinburgh Schools Fairtrade Presentation last week.
Mrs. Buchan and her Fairtrade Group set up stall at Towerbank Primary School during Fairtrade Fortnight and presented an award winning show to a selection of Edinburgh schools.
Our children were delighted as the Lord Provost announced first prizes to Stenhouse and Towerbank Primary Schools.
